THOUGHTS ON BANMAL SONG.

I was once a close-minded shipper of the other pairing (can you believe that?HAHAHA) Everytime I search for Yong Hwa related articles, it kinda pisses me. I mean, I was all like, ‘who is this Seohyun?’ ‘wife?what wife? No! she’s not his wife!’ ‘oh? WGM? It’s just a show!’ ‘*inserttheothercouplenamehere* all the way!’ and all those stuffs. Yes. I was that bitter, close-minded and immature. WAS.

But all of those changed when I came across the ‘Kpop All Star Live in Niigata’ Banmal Song performance by Yong Hwa and Seohyun. The reason why I watched it was because 1) I was eager to watch YH’s live performances. 2) I really like it YH’s forehair(?) is up or what Hyun calls the ‘eotoriya’ hair. That was it. I swear it was the first time I saw Seohyun (I actually didn’t care about her during the performance) and I thought Banmal song was just another lovey-dovey song that’s good for duets.

But my heart broke when I carefully stared at Yong Hwa, his facial expressions, those eyes, those lips, those bursting cheeks, that smile. It was different from the Lee Shin that I knew from Heartstrings, it’s a ‘warm guy’. For a moment, I forgot that I was a shipper of the other pairing. I even compared it to his duet with IU, they sang Lucky which is by the way is a really sweet song but his expressions were different. Really different. My mac knows how many times I replayed the video just in case he’d change his expression when I replay it but no. The more I replay the video, the more I realize that those expressions are real. I searched the English translation of the song thinking that its about smiles or something but no, it was about banmal and heck yeah I didn’t know what that means (before, of course)

I admit, though I was really close-minded, I felt butterflies in my stomach when I watched the whole performance. Here are some parts when I really shouted because I was happy and kilig! [Please note that my captions will be based on how I viewed it when I first saw the video, back when I really didn’t like Yongseo.]

See how bitter I was back then?lol. Everytime I think of it, I always laugh so hard. I was dumbfounded when I finished the video, I felt cheated, no, more like defeated. That was just during the performance! Imagine how heartbroken I am when I finally understood the meaning of banmal song and that Yong Hwa actually wrote the song for Seohyun! Heartbrokenx10000

I HAD TO SWALLOW EVERYTHING I SAID ABOUT YS, AND FRANKLY, IT DIDN’T TASTE GOOD.HAHAHAH~

BUT IT’S IN THE PAST NOW. AND IF WASN’T FOR THAT VIDEO, I PROBABLY WON’T BE A GOGUMA NOW. And I definitely believe that everything happens for a reason. The night I clicked and watched that video, was the night I started to fall in love again. <3
